The safe, easy and more reliable way to test grain.

U.S. Patent 6532836

About Us

Bio-Tap was invented by Lynn Payne of Clinton, Iowa. Mr. Payne got the idea for the Bio-Tap port to retrieve samples from all parts of the grain bin when he saw the way samples had to be taken. “I thought, ‘There must be a better way to do this.’”

Payne adds “It is not a cumbersome apparatus and it allows for the horizontal approach to obtain grain samples for a more thorough sampling and testing of the grain while using a minimum of sampling points.”

Mike Polaski of Mid Iowa Grain Inspection commented on the Bio-Tap port saying, “It'll be much safer and allow us to get a representative sample from a grain bin. This will improve quality control and assist with identity preservation (identifying quality of the grain). We could not do this before.”

The Bio-Tap is sealed to prevent the introduction of unwanted moisture or insects into the storage cavity of the grain bin. Also anything stored in a bin can be fumigated with this method by dispensing pellets at various levels.
